The Empty Stocking Club, a charitable arm of the Wisconsin State Journal since 1918, is once again accepting donations and seeking volunteers to give out thousands of toys and books to Madison-area families this holiday season.
Families who apply to the program will be able to shop at the Toy Depot at Alliant Energy Center on Dec. 14–15. Brand new toys will be available and sorted by age and interest, and books for each child will be provided by the Madison Reading Project. Nearly 7,000 toys were distributed last year.
