The new Capitol East Parking structure planned to serve new buildings going up in the East Washington Avenue corridor may receive an additional $1.9 million if the City Council approves a recommendation from Madison’s Finance Committee.
The entire $18.67 million project includes a 650-space parking structure for the future Cosmos/Sylvee and The Spark/StartingBlock buildings, and the city’s purchase of an additional 1.7-acre parcel from Madison Gas & Electric for a separate structure for commercial space.
The total number of public spaces available in the larger garage has been increased to 100, according to The Capital Times.
The City Council is expected to vote on the budget amendment in May.
