On Tuesday, Secretary Amy Pechacek joined colleagues at the Wisconsin Technical College System Board meeting to celebrate the partnership between the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the technical colleges in implementing the Workforce Solutions Initiative.

WSI consists of three programs: Workforce Innovation Grants, Worker Advancement Initiative and the Worker Connection Program.

As part of Governor Tony Evers‘ investment of $168 million through the WSI, DWD has been able to work with partners like the WTCS to address workforce needs and connect people with jobs and career advancement through training.

Wisconsin’s technical colleges were key partners in several Workforce Innovation Grant programs, helping remove barriers to employment by supporting childcare, transportation, housing and training opportunities across the state.
