DWD releases latest BLS employment stats for Wisconsin metros, cities, counties

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today released U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates of employment and unemployment statistics for metropolitan areas, major cities, and counties in Wisconsin for June 2024.

In brief, the nonseasonally adjusted data for Wisconsin shows that preliminary June 2024 unemployment rates:

  • Increased in all 12 metro areas over the month and decreased or stayed the same in all 12 metro areas over the year;

  • Increased in all 35 cities over the month and decreased or stayed the same in 31 cities over the year; and

  • Decreased or stayed the same in nine counties over the month and decreased or stayed the same in 67 counties over the year.
