Amy Gannon, 47, co-founder of the Doyenne Group and the Social Good Network in Madison, passed away on Dec. 26 along with her 13-year-old daughter, Jocelyn, while on a family vacation in Hawaii, according to a Wisconsin State Journalreport. The two were on a tour of the Na Pali Coast on the island of Kauai when their tour helicopter crashed. Along with Gannon and her daughter, the pilot and four other passengers believed to be from Switzerland were on board. One of the four was still missing but presumed dead; none of the others on board survived.
Jocelyn was in the eighth grade at Hamilton Middle School and an accomplished gymnast through Gymfinity.
“We are heartbroken,” Heather Wentler, Doyenne co-founder said in a release. “Amy’s passion for her work was infectious. Her contributions to decreasing gender disparities by removing social and economic barriers for women in business has impacted the lives and livelihoods of thousands of women across Dane County and beyond.”
Gannon is survived by her husband, Mike, and their 16-year-old son, Aaron. The family is asking for privacy at this time.
