Any Madison developer knows the key to a successful project is neighborhood buy-in, and the same applies to Core Spaces, the development group behind the proposed Hub II student housing project.
Neighbors began to speak out on the proposed development late last month during an informational presentation before the city’s Urban Design Commission, and they were most curious about how the apartment building, planned for 126 Langdon St., would fit in with surrounding buildings, according to an article in The Capital Times.
Core Spaces, also the developer for The Hub on State Street and The James on West Gorham Street, heard concerns about Hub II’s architecture, potential noise disturbances from amplified sound on a rooftop pool/hot tub patio, and the potential for a high volume of pick-up and drop-off traffic.
Developers will be back before the Urban Design Commission on Wednesday, Dec. 11 and there are plans for a meeting between developers and neighbors on Monday, Dec. 16.
