As Madison College prepares for its inaugural year at its new Goodman South campus on Madison’s south side, the technical school will vacate its downtown 98-year-old building at 211 N. Carroll St. on Friday, May 31, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.

Hotel developer Drury Southwest plans to convert the block into a Drury Plaza Hotel, a four-level parking structure, and bring retail space and a total of 319 hotel rooms to the downtown area. The project will be completed by fall 2021.
