St. John’s Lutheran Church in downtown Madison is planning to demolish its building at 322 E. Washington Ave. and replace it with a 10-story redevelopment to help the community, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The cost projection for the project, which would feature a new sanctuary, community spaces, and offices, is between $25 and $30 million. The top nine floors of the project would be mostly lower-cost apartments. The project would also include below-ground parking. The church is developing concepts with a developer and architect.
