A 45-mile interstate project in Dane and Rock counties has been completed, according to a release from Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Improvements to the I-39/90 stretch began in 2015 and include:
- Expansion from four to six lanes along most of the corridor through Janesville;
- Reconfiguration of 11 interchanges;
- New flyover ramps creating a free-flow transition of traffic between I-39/90 and I-43 in Beloit;
- Replacement of the Rock River bridges in Edgerton;
- Replacement of 104 bridges and box culverts;
- Expansion of truck parking at the Janesville and Beloit rest areas; and
- Addition of new park and ride lots in Edgerton and Janesville.
