Donations to the Salvation Army of Dane County are reportedly down this year, according to WMTV15, and the organization is seeking additional support to meet its $500,000 goal before Christmas.

Donations support emergency disaster services, housing and emergency shelters for single women and families, and after-school programs. Opportunities to volunteer to gather donations or to provide donations are available here.

Community members can also support Angel Tree Adoptions, which provides gifts to those in need.
