In Central Wisconsin, Domtar Corp. sold its former paper mill site in Port Edwards to DMI Acquisitions for an undisclosed price. The sale did not include adjacent hydroelectric facilities. The 192-acre area along the Wisconsin River between Nekoosa and Wisconsin Rapids will be used for industrial development and could help replace some of the 500 jobs lost when the mill closed in 2008.
The news came on the heels of an announcement that Wausau Paper of Mosinee announced that its Rhinelander and Mosinee mills are expected to be sold to NewCo.
