The Midwest barbecue restaurant chain Doc’s Smokehouse plans to open at West Towne Mall in mid-December in a space once occupied by Granite City Food & Brewery.

According to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal, Doc’s Smokehouse & Craft Bar founder Brent Brashier, 44, opened his first Doc’s restaurant in in Dyer, Indiana, a suburb of Chicago, three years ago.
He opened a second Doc’s restaurant, his first in Wisconsin, in 2017 in downtown Milwaukee.
The Madison location, which is being renovated after being vacant for two years, will be the fourth Doc’s restaurant. It was the home of Granite City for 11 years.
