The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has launched a website to track PFAS chemicals, commonly referred to as “forever chemicals,” according to a Wisconsin State Journalreport. The new resource aims to be a user-friendly, accessible, one-stop site for information on contaminants, and the new site uses combined information from drinking and surface water monitoring programs, health consumption advisories, and a database of contaminated sites. Using color-coded dots, the site shows whether municipal drinking water systems have detected PFAS compounds and if they are above state health guidelines or state enforcement standards. The map also shows locations where fish and wildlife have been contaminated.
