Two McFarland developers proposing similar housing projects are facing opposition from nearby residents who worry about traffic and potential home value declines, according to a McFarland Thistle report.
Northpointe Development is asking the village to rezone a parcel on the northeast corner of Broadhead Street and Holscher Road to build a three-story, 62-unit apartment building, and underground and surface parking, as well as five separate two-story, 18-unit townhouses with two-car garages.
Just to the north, CF Investments has proposed building 32 market-rate, two-story townhouse units in four separate buildings, each with two-car garages and surface parking, and one two-story multifamily building with eight units and underground parking. Several hundred residents signed a petition opposing the developments. A traffic study of the intersection will be performed and is expected to be completed in August or September.
