St. Louis-based Subtext Development wants to raze eight downtown buildings to accommodate a $50 million, 12-story housing complex, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The proposal for the corner of Bassett and West Johnson streets would demolish eight apartment buildings ranging in size from two to three stories. The “Verve Living” project would include 140–150 apartments and parking. An online neighborhood meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m.
