Promising the smartest apartment building ever constructed in Madison, north side businessman Dave Bruns is downsizing a proposed housing project planned for the Northside TownCenter, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Bruns is not only downsizing the proposed Prism apartment project in the former Sherman Plaza, he’s making it more environmentally friendly. It’s now a $5.5 million, four-story, 27-unit proposal that includes state-of-the-art technology such as smart services for lighting, security, heating and cooling, entry, and appliances.

Previously, Bruns had proposed a $10.5 million, four-story, 58-unit project, but the city rejected his request for tax incremental financing support for that plan.
