Last night’s Destination Madison 50th anniversary event, “This is 50: A Celebration of Our Destination,” recognized hospitality industry professionals for their work welcoming and servicing Madison’s visitors. The event also highlighted 50 years of tourism impact in Madison and Dane County and raised funds for the Destination Madison Foundation.
The evening marked the return of the Destination Madison Awards (DMAs). The recipients, nominated by the public and selected by their peers, were recognized for their contributions, innovation, and dedication within the local tourism landscape. They included:
- Bethany Jurewicz, co-owner and director of public programming and business operations at Garver Events — Rising Star Award;
- Helen Bradley, general manager at Madison BCycle — Distinguished Achievement Award;
- Carrie Montgomery, lead dishwasher at Blue Plate Catering — Behind the Scenes Service Award;
- Stephan Reinke, owner/manager at Brittingham Boats — Destination Host Award; and
- Olbrich Botanical Gardens — Sylvia & Herb Frank Visionary Award.
