J.H. Findorff & Son Inc. has demolished 16 vacant homes and cleared the way for SSM Health Dean Medical Group’s replacement clinic on Fish Hatchery Road, according to a company release.
After the project received city of Madison approval in March and prior to their demolition, the houses were used for the Dane County Bomb Team to prepare officers for emergency situations. Separately, K9 teams from 10 local police departments also utilized the homes for training exercises.
Items from the houses, such as cabinets, doors, floors, and fixtures were donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStore and Deconstruction Inc.
