A project that will bring a Topgolf driving range and entertainment center to Monona is finally underway, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. Demolition work began this month on the 16-acre development site, which includes 11.5 acres for the golf complex and is situated alongside the Beltline.
The two-story, 72-bay golf complex is anticipated to open in 2026 and will be the first Topgolf in Wisconsin. It will join roughly 90 other locations in 36 U.S. states and 10 in other countries.
The new development will replace five buildings on the western end of the WPS campus and in a nearby office park. Monona developer Galway Companies has obtained approval for up to $4.2 million in tax increment financing for the $30 million project. Construction is reportedly set to begin in late summer or early fall.
