DeForest housing developments move forward

DeForest approved new and expanded developments at its Jan. 28 meeting, according to The Star. The village’s Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously in favor of proceeding with two housing projects — the Riverstone Townhomes and the Springs of DeForest developments.

The Final Development Plan (FDP) for phase two of the Riverstone project, located between Windsor Road and Bellflower Drive, will adjoin the development’s first phase, approved by the commission last March.

Fifteen townhouse-style units situated on 1.78 acres by Waunakee’s Classic Custom Homes will include:

  • Three four-unit buildings; and

  • One three-unit building.

Units will be for sale, not for rent. 

The approved FDP for the Springs of DeForest development, located near Dalmore Road and Tierney Crossing, features a 320-unit development with:

  • 32 studio units;

  • 128 one-bedroom units;

  • 128 two-bedroom units; and

  • 32 three-bedroom units.

The project will be constructed on 22.3 acres by Menomonee Falls-based Continental Properties.
