The Madison Landmarks Commission has delayed a decision on a proposal to raze the 10-story Highlander apartment building and replace two homes in the Mansion Hill neighborhood. Developer Steve Brown asked for a referral to the commission’s Feb. 3 meeting after the commission spent seven hours weighing the proposal. Some complaints revolve around the scale of the project, while others question the handling of a 120-year-old home that would be demolished in the plan. The other home would be moved to Gorham Street.
