A bankruptcy judge approved Dancing Goat Distillery’s highest bid of $2.48 million for Death’s Door Distilling of Madison.

Dancing Goat, of Cambridge, is located within the Vineyards at Cambridge development and owned by business partners Travis Hasse and Tom Maas, who submitted the winning bid under the name Midwest Custom Bottling at the end of a five-hour bankruptcy auction.

A closing is expected in January, according to a Wisconsin State Journalstory, keeping ownership local and the Death’s Door brand alive.
