A redistricting commission to draw the next maps for Dane County Board districts has extended the application deadline to Sept. 11, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.
The application extension for the 11-member commission hopes to draw a more diverse pool of applicants in order to better reflect the communities they will represent. Citizen applicants must meet eligibility requirements that include being a resident of Dane County, not serving on the County Board, not being a lobbyist, and not holding an official political position.
