DCR’s RaISE program participants guaranteed job interviews

The city of Madison announced that all companies that contract with the city (and are nonexempt) are required to submit job postings to the Department of Civil Rights (DCR) before advertising anywhere else if the job is located within Dane County. They must also guarantee an interview to candidates referred by DCR through the RaISE program, and candidates only need to meet the minimum qualifications to receive an interview.

Through the RaISE program, DCR collaborates with community partners to help both jobseekers and hiring companies looking to fill positions with qualified workers. Current community partners include Employability, Urban League of Greater Madison, Catholic Multicultural Center, African Center, and the Department of Workforce Development.

Additional organizations are currently engaged in the process of becoming partners. The city’s goal is to achieve representation in different geographic areas and the ability to serve communities in different languages.
