The Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA) has completed all construction on the 90,000-square-foot expansion of its south terminal, according to a county press release. While the south terminal opened to passengers in June 2023, all gates are now fully open, and the Launch Deck Bar is serving travelers. The south terminal also includes amenities such as a mother’s lounge, children’s play area, meeting rooms, an indoor pet relief area, and more.
DCRA experienced a milestone year, achieving the third-highest passenger traffic in its 85-year history. The airport served nearly 1.1 million passengers in 2023, just shy of the all-time record of nearly 1.2 million passengers set in 2019. DCRA attributes the growth to a high demand for air travel, new and returning nonstop destinations, a new carrier serving DCRA, and the increased capacity due to the expansion of the south terminal.
