Madison College announced that President Jack E. Daniels III is retiring after more than 11 years of service to the college and community.
Daniels came to Madison College in 2013 from Los Angeles Southwest College. He has served area nonprofits and the business community, and worked with multiple organizations to solidify Madison College as a catalyst for economic and workforce development.
His accomplishments include the creation of Madison College’s Goodman South Campus and the formation of a coalition of area leaders aimed at intentionally serving and supporting the South Madison community.
He worked with college leadership to expand program and apprenticeship offerings, craft new curricula to meet changing workforce needs, and institute numerous new transfer agreements with four-year colleges and universities.
Under his leadership, the number of students of color served by Madison College increased from 22% to 35% over the past decade. Similarly, the number of employees of color has also grown.
Madison College District Board of Trustees has launched a national search for Daniels’ replacement.
