Dane County Small Business Awards – and tips on how to earn one (And a stroll down memory lane with 29 years of winners!)

Get Our Email Newsletter
The companies, people and issues shaping business in Madison and the Capital Region.

As we come together to present the 29th annual Dane County Small Business Awards on Friday, June 10, we’ll also be hearing some great advice from keynote speaker Christine McMahon. Full engagement. High performance, especially during periods of radical change. Isn’t this what we aspire to? As a trainer, consultant, and columnist, McMahon will draw on her extensive background as a sales exec with Procter & Gamble, Slim-Fast Foods, and Nabisco, as well as her own entrepreneurial experiences. Her clients include Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Baird, Northwestern Mutual, and Rockline – so I think she has the credentials to give you some insights as well as entertain you with the insights they’ve learned.

Specifically, she’ll be talking about how to adapt to rapidly changing conditions in the economy and marketplace. She’s also going to address how businesses can achieve high performance by embracing the process of ongoing renewal. In other words, what gotcha here ain’t gonna get you there, so it’s time to contemplate and embrace change.

Also making brief comments at the opening of the program will be new Dane County Exec Joe Parisi. I’ll be returning emcee of the program, which happens Friday, June 10, at the Sheraton Madison Hotel, 706 John Nolen Dr., from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. And I’m famous for ending on time, so join us by registering today! It’s easy reserve your seat (breakfast included) online at http://sbdc.wisc.edu/DCSBA/aboutdcsba.html.

The real highlight, of course, is the awards program for 10 deserving companies, which will be highlighted in the next issue of In Business magazine. But here’s a preview of who was selected:
