Dane County Executive Melissa Agard on Tuesday signed the 2025–30 Dane County Parks & Open Space Plan, a comprehensive roadmap that will guide conservation, recreation and public access priorities over the next five years.

The plan identifies key environmental corridors for protection, sets priorities for expanding recreational opportunities and outlines strategies to partner with local governments and conservation organizations.

Dane County currently manages over 15,000 acres of parkland, along with hundreds of miles of trails, streams and natural areas. The new plan will aim to increase access, enhance stewardship and and expand conservation partnerships throughout the region.
