In an effort to make the trails systems within Dane County Park System more accessible to visitors with mobility concerns, “Healthy Parks, Healthy You” initiative partners — including Foundation for Dane County Parks, Dean Health Plan by Medica, and SSM Health — are donating an all-terrain wheelchair to the Dane County Parks system. In addition, a 15-passenger van is being donated to address transportation needs for youth program participants.
An event to unveil the donated wheelchair, which can be reserved for use starting May 1, and the new van will take place at the Lussier Heritage Center at William G. Lunney Lake Farm Park, located at 3101 Lake Farm Road, on Thursday, April 4 at 11:30 a.m. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the event will be held inside the Heritage Center.
