Several fees in Dane County are going up next year to help with budget shortfalls, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.
Alliant Energy Center parking prices will rise to $10 from $8. Bus parking will jump to $30 from $24. The increase is estimated to net the county about $400,000 more each year.
The daily parking ramp fee at the Dane County Regional Airport will increase from $10 to $14. The max rate in hourly parking will increase to $20. And free parking will be extended to 30 minutes, up from 15.
These changes are estimated to bring in $1.47 million more each year.
Vehicle registration, parks, camps and shelters, waste dumping and cremation certificates will all increase in cost as well.
The cost to register a vehicle r will rise to $40 per year from $28. This is expected to increase the county’s earnings by $3.7 million more.
Park and campsite charges will increase to $5 from $3. Event vending and alcohol sales permits will jump to $30, up from $10, depending on the number of expected attendees.
Dumping waste will rise up to $2 per ton, to $47. Dumping construction materials will hike up $2 to $58. And a new $58-per-ton fee for compost, yard and food waste will be enacted.
And finally, cremation certificates will rise $6 to $365.
