Dane County OECC calls for business, nonprofit Climate Champion applications

This week, the Dane County Office of Energy and Climate Change (OECC) launched a call to businesses, nonprofits and local governments to apply to be a 2025 Climate Champion. OECC developed the Climate Champions program to recognize the leadership of local entities that are taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Climate Champion applications are open through July 1.

To date, OECC has recognized more than 150 entities across Dane County for their leadership on climate action. The program recognizes achievements across 10 categories, including:

  • Building energy use;

  • Building design;

  • Fleet operations;

  • Employee commuting;

  • Water saving practices;

  • Waste diversion practices;

  • Sustainable land use practices;

  • Catalyzing climate actions;

  • GHG emissions; and

  • Other actions.
