Dane County No. 2 in state for GDP

Ranking second in GDP growth in the state, Dane County trails only Milwaukee County in the metric that illustrates the economic soundness of the county, according to SmartAsset, a New York-based financial tech company.

Milwaukee’s gross domestic product, or GDP, came in at $1,557 million and indexed at 4.46. Dane County’s GDP was $1,091 million and indexed at 3.42.

GDP represents the total dollar market value over a specific period of time.
