The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service recently released Wisconsin’s row crop county estimates for the 2022 harvest, and Dane County led the pack in corn for grain production, according to a report from Wisconsin State Farmer.
Dane County produced 28.8 million bushels of corn for grain production in 2022. Rock, Grant, Dodge, and Lafayette counties rounded out the top five.
Dane, Buffalo, and Lafayette counties also tied for the highest yield of corn silage, with an average of 26.5 tons per acre harvested.
