Dane County job growth tops state

According to the latest Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages released last week, private sector job growth in Wisconsin slowed during the 12-month period ending in June, but Dane County still saw an increase in jobs.

Between June 2014 and June 2015, Dane County added 6,097 private sector jobs, representing 2.48% growth over the year. By comparison, the state the saw just 1.27% growth during the same period to rank 37th nationally.

Dane County’s job growth between June 2014 and June 2015 ranked just 21st among the Wisconsin’s 72 counties by percentage, but it was tops in the state in raw numbers of new jobs created.
