In Dane County, 685 homes and condos were sold in August, down considerably from the 883 sold in August 2013. Year to date, sales are trailing 2013 by 9.5%, according to the South Central Wisconsin MLS.
It took slightly longer to sell a home in August, compared to July, as the supply of inventory is now approaching the five-month mark (4.84 months). Dane County’s median sale price was $230,000 in August, compared to $220,000 last year, but the average sale price for the month increased slightly, from $256,366 in August 2013 to $257,048 this year.
