According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the Dane County Board selected a new provider for its senior meals program — AtlantisValley Foods of Cottage Grove— six months after service ended under restauranteur Dave Heide, its former contractor.

The County Board greenlighted the new contract at its meeting Thursday night on a voice vote with no debate.

Under the contract, AtlantisValley Foods will provide meals to 11 area senior centers as well as home-delivered meals. The company already delivers around 30,000 meals countywide each week.

Dane County will pay roughly $400,000 to AtlantisValley Foods for the delivery of nearly 40,000 meals from September through the end of 2023.
