Sen. Tammy Baldwin on Friday announced that Dane County was awarded more than $13 million in federal funding to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging station access, according to WMTV15. The funding aims to increase transportation options for Wisconsinites and reduce carbon emissions.

The money will bring EV charging stations to high-density urban, suburban, and rural areas, going toward 92 Level 2 and DC Fast Charging EV stations, with a total of 368 accessible ports.

Project funding comes from the Federal Highway Administration’s charging and fueling grant program and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
