Dane County fuels most state job growth

Over a 15-year span of time (2001 to 2015), Dane County was responsible for most of the state’s job growth, according to a city economic development plan and reported by The Capital Times.

While jobs increased 3% statewide, Dane County’s growth during that time was 9%, growing jobs by 43,000 to 322,000.

From 2001 to 2012, Dane County also added 1,100 new businesses and Madison’s GDP grew from $23 billion to $39 billion.
