Dane County will award $25,279,999 in 2025 to support six affordable housing projects, County Executive Melissa Agard announced Tuesday.
The projects are being selected now through the Dane County Affordable Housing Development Fund so that developers can secure the full financing needed to begin construction.
As projects finalize their funding and move toward closing — expected as soon as late spring 2026 — they will return individually to the County Board for final approval.
Together, these efforts will create 494 new affordable housing units, including 374 in the city of Madison and 120 in the communities of Fitchburg and Mount Horeb.
