With Epic employees accounting for between 15% and 20% of business at Dane County Regional Airport, retail and restaurant sales in the terminals over the next 10 years are predicted to amount to more than $81 million in gross sales and generate over $12 million to Dane County, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.
The airport’s growth has fueled $3 million in retail and restaurant upgrades thus far with more likely on the way.
In 2016, Dane County Regional reported nearly 1.8 million departures and arrivals, a 10% gain over 2015 and one of the highest year-to-year increases in the country for an airport of its size.
In October, the airport recorded its best single month in its history with 91,151 passengers departing, an increase of 13% over October 2015.
