Following on the heels of Dane County Regional Airport’s busiest year, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi allotted $25 million in his 2018 budget to launch a multiyear modernization and expansion of the airport’s terminal and infrastructure.
According to a release, phase I includes the selection of consultants to design a comprehensive plan, with most of the construction beginning in 2019. Areas to be updated include gate seating areas, restrooms, security, safety and access systems, eco-responsible HVAC systems, and additional jet boarding bridges.
Last year marked the launch of a new nonstop to Las Vegas, and later this year the airport will begin new nonstop flights to both Philadelphia and San Francisco.
