This year’s World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest at Madison College begins today with judging for cheese and butter and wraps up on Thursday, Aug. 25 with judging for ice cream and whey. Cheese curds and cheese snacks are two new product categories included in this year’s competition. The three-day event was started in 2003 and is the only one in the world that features a full array of dairy products. The contest is expected to draw more than 1,550 entries from 28 states.
