Failing to agree on a monthly proposed payment, Michael’s Frozen Custard owner Michael Dix is now without a lease at the 2531 Monroe St. location, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.

His landlord, Dianne Zilley, owner of The Laurel Tavern, says she rejected his offer for the lease because of the payment amount and length of the lease. Dix’s current lease runs through December but he plans to close the flagship Monroe Street location sometime in October. It was opened in 1986.
