CUNA Mutual Group’s iconic round office building at 5810 Mineral Point Road is about to come down.
If the city approves, the Madison-based company will raze the circular building in spring and replace it with a building four times its size by 2022.
CUNA Mutual Group officials say it’s time to replace the old structure and improve its energy efficiency with a five-story, 230,000-square-foot building that will serve as a gateway to CUNA Mutual Group’s west Madison campus.
The new building will include a customer center, dining center, auditorium, various meeting spaces, and underground parking, according to a Wisconsin State Journalstory.
Currently, there’s no immediate plan to add employees. CUNA Mutual Group employs about 1,700 people in Dane County.
