According to NBC15, Madison will no longer host the NOBULL CrossFit Games in 2024. A Destination Madison spokesperson on Saturday morning confirmed the change to a January announcement that the games would remain in the city.
Madison has hosted the multiday sporting event that aims to determine the “Fittest on Earth” since 2017. The games generate upwards of $12 million for Dane County tourism, with over 50,000 people attending the 2022 competition.
CrossFit said previously that Madison was an ideal location for the games, citing the city’s recreational opportunities, culture, and natural beauty. CrossFit on Saturday stated it was grateful for its years in Madison and is now looking to bring the games to other communities.
The 2023 games will run from Tuesday, Aug. 1–Sunday, Aug. 6.
The location of next year’s games will be announced at the current season’s end, according to that statement.
