Plastic Ingenuity, a custom thermoformer, aims to enhance its global health care packaging capabilities through the purchase of Spezi-Pack in Dresden, Germany.
The move will help the company better serve its global health care customers, it said.
“With manufacturing now available in both North America and Europe, Plastic Ingenuity is better positioned to support localized production, improve supply chain resilience and meet the evolving needs of global health care customers,” Dan Kuehn, president and CEO of Plastic Ingenuity, said in a statement.
Spezi-Pack brings nearly 40 years of thermoforming experience to the table. Its operations will continue under the leadership of former company president Dirk Walters.
Plastic Ingenuity plans to make significant investments in the Spezi-Pack facility, including the addition of an ISO Class 7 cleanroom and new thermoforming lines, which will expand capacity for medical and pharmaceutical packaging. These upgrades are expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2027.
Plastic Ingenuity now operates across eight locations. The company specializes in food, health care and consumer goods packaging.
