A vaccine candidate developed in the United Kingdom with pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has shown potential in preliminary trials against the coronavirus, according to a Washington Examiner report.
The vaccine candidate appears to induce an immune response to infection in all 1,077 volunteers in the early human trials. The trials found that the vaccine generated antibodies and killer T-cells that attack virus cells.
The trials have not determined whether the vaccine would prevent COVID-19 infection.
