Pfizer Inc. is hopeful its COVID-19 vaccine candidate is a remarkable 90% effective, based on early and incomplete test results, according to a report from the Associated Press.
The initial results have brought a burst of optimism that the catastrophic outbreak may be able to be put under control, as the COVID-19 pandemic has killed nearly a quarter of a million people in the U.S. The vaccine, co-developed by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech, is on track to apply later this month for emergency-use approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
