Dane County is hoping to lure developers to the vacant Messner Inc. site, earmarked for an affordable housing project, with a 99-year, rent-free land lease.
The county is seeking proposals for a mixed-income rental property at 1326 E. Washington Ave., continuing its focus on long-term affordable housing. Proposals are due by Sept. 8.
The one-acre property also includes a separate commercial building and an occupied three-unit house, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
