Dane County is seeking proposals for Alliant Energy Center’s 164-acre campus on Madison’s south side, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal. The county is looking to expand the facilities on the campus to attract new events.

While large events, concerts, and expos have been on hold through the COVID-19 pandemic, the campus has been used for drive-through COVID-19 testing and vaccinations. Plans remain unclear for the redevelopment of the campus, but the county said it’s looking to expand the Exhibition Hall to attract more large trade shows. The World Dairy Expo, traditionally held at the Alliant Energy Center, solicited proposals for alternative locations last month although the organization made no final decision on where future expos will be held.
